MakerSolid Documentation Version 1.5.2

Modeling tool

Combine

Perform a Boolean Join, Cut, or Intersect between one target body and one or more tool bodies.

Purpose

Perform a Boolean Join, Cut, or Intersect between one target body and one or more tool bodies.

Where to find it

Open Model, choose Modify > Combine, and select the participating bodies.

Selection

  • Choose exactly one Target Body.
  • Choose one or more Tools; the target cannot also be a tool.

Steps

  1. Choose Target Body and Operation.
  2. Select Tools individually, by group, or with All.
  3. Choose Keep Tools, verify the preview, and tap Apply.

Options

Target Body

Identifies the body that receives the Boolean result.

Operation

Join unions target and tools; Cut subtracts tools from target; Intersect keeps only shared volume.

JoinCutIntersect

Tools

Selects the bodies used against the target; All, None, and body-group shortcuts change the set.

Keep Tools

Preserves the original tool bodies after the Boolean result instead of consuming or hiding them.

Result

Apply adds a Combine feature and replaces the target result; tool-body persistence follows Keep Tools.

Editing

Open Combine in History to change target, operation, tool set, or Keep Tools.

Troubleshooting

The Boolean fails or appears unchanged.

Ensure target and tools are distinct valid solids and overlap for Cut or Intersect; disjoint bodies do not create a useful intersection.
