MakerSolid Documentation Version 1.5.2

Modeling tool

Press Pull

Offset a selected planar or cylindrical face directly, or adjust allowance on a traceable modeled thread face.

Purpose

Offset a selected planar or cylindrical face directly, or adjust allowance on a traceable modeled thread face.

Where to find it

Select a supported face in Model and choose Modify > Press Pull.

Selection

  • Select one planar or cylindrical model face. A supported modeled thread face resolves to its Thread feature allowance.

Steps

  1. Select Face and enter signed Distance.
  2. Review which direction adds or removes material and tap Apply.

Options

Distance

Sets signed face offset. Positive and negative values move in opposite normal directions; on modeled thread faces its absolute value becomes thread Allowance.

ƒ Accepts variables and expressions

Result

Apply adds an Offset Face feature, or edits the source Thread allowance for a recognized modeled thread face.

Editing

Open the resulting feature in History, or edit the original Thread when Press Pull changed thread clearance.

Troubleshooting

The face cannot be offset or a zero-distance warning appears.

Select a supported planar, cylindrical, or recognized thread face and enter a nonzero distance small enough to preserve valid topology.
