MakerSolid Documentation Version 1.5.2

Sketch tool

Concentric

Force two circles to share the same center while retaining independent radii.

Purpose

Force two circles to share the same center while retaining independent radii.

Where to find it

While editing a sketch, open Constraints and choose Concentric.

Selection

  • Tap two circles.

Steps

  1. Select the reference circle and second circle.
  2. Confirm their centers coincide.

Options

Circle pair

The selected circles share center coordinates; radii remain separately controlled.

Result

A Concentric constraint is added only when both circles can share a center. An incompatible fixed relationship is rejected without changing the sketch.

Editing

Dimension either radius independently, or use Manage Constraints in a relationship constraint panel and delete Concentric to separate centers. If a previously saved Concentric relationship becomes unsatisfied, Review Constraints highlights it for removal or repair.

Troubleshooting

The circles cannot become concentric.

Remove conflicting fixed or center-position constraints, then apply Concentric again.
