MakerSolid Documentation Version 1.5.2

Sketch tool

Show Bodies in Sketch

Show or hide existing model bodies behind the active sketch without changing the project geometry.

Purpose

Show or hide existing model bodies behind the active sketch without changing the project geometry.

Where to find it

Open an active sketch and use the translucent-cube button beside the snapping controls.

Selection

  • No selection is required; the control affects the visibility of model bodies in Sketch.

Steps

  1. Tap the translucent cube to show bodies while sketching.
  2. Use visible bodies for context or Project references.
  3. Tap it again when bodies obscure sketch geometry.

Options

Show / Hide Bodies in Sketch

Toggles only Sketch viewport presentation; it does not delete, suppress, or modify any body.

The translucent-cube body visibility control beside the Sketch snapping controls.

Result

Model bodies become visible or hidden behind the active sketch while sketch geometry remains editable.

Editing

Toggle the control whenever the desired drawing context changes.

Troubleshooting

A body is visible but its edge cannot be used as ordinary sketch geometry.

Use Project to create an associative sketch reference from a supported model edge; visibility by itself does not convert body edges into sketch entities.
