MakerSolid Documentation Version 1.5.2

Sketch tool

Midpoint

Constrain a supported point to the midpoint of a straight line.

Purpose

Constrain a supported point to the midpoint of a straight line.

Where to find it

While editing a sketch, open Constraints and choose Midpoint.

Selection

  • Tap an endpoint or circle center first, then tap the target line.

Steps

  1. Select the point.
  2. Select the line and confirm the point moves to its middle.

Options

Point and line

Selection order identifies the moving point and reference line; there are no numeric controls.

Result

A Midpoint constraint keeps the point centered as the line changes and preserves any edges already joined at that point. A relationship that would collapse the target line is rejected without changing the sketch.

Editing

Use Manage Constraints in a relationship constraint panel and delete Midpoint to move the point independently.

Troubleshooting

The point cannot reach the midpoint.

Remove fixed, coincident, or dimensional constraints that prevent the point or line from moving.
