MakerSolid Documentation Version 1.5.2

Sketch tool

Line

Draw connected straight sketch segments with optional precise length and angle constraints while drawing.

Purpose

Draw connected straight sketch segments with optional precise length and angle constraints while drawing.

Where to find it

Start or edit a sketch, open Draw, and choose Line.

Selection

  • Tap the start point, then tap successive endpoints; snapping can reuse existing points and geometry.

Steps

  1. Tap a start point and an endpoint.
  2. Continue tapping for a chain, or tap Apply to finish the current chain.

Options

Length

Locks the current segment to a positive distance while drawing.

ƒ Accepts variables and expressions

Angle

Locks the current segment direction to an angle in the sketch plane.

ƒ Accepts variables and expressions

Construction Mode

Creates reference lines that constrain geometry but do not form solid profiles.

Result

Each accepted segment becomes editable sketch geometry; connected closed chains can form selectable profiles.

Editing

Use Edit Points or Transform to reposition it, Dimension to size it, and constraints to control its relationships.

Troubleshooting

A chain does not create a profile.

Snap the final endpoint exactly onto the first and remove crossings, duplicates, or construction segments from the boundary.
