MakerSolid Documentation Version 1.5.2

Modeling tool

Wrap

Map sketch profiles or a connected sketch path onto a planar, cylindrical, or conical target face.

Purpose

Map sketch profiles or a connected sketch path onto a planar, cylindrical, or conical target face.

Where to find it

Select a target face and source sketch geometry in Model, then choose Create > Wrap.

Selection

  • Choose one supported target Face.
  • Select closed Profiles for a Solid result or a supported connected Path for splitting or imprinting.

Steps

  1. Select Target and source Profiles or Path.
  2. Choose Type and, for Solid, Operation and Thickness.
  3. Adjust U offset, V offset, and Rotation, review the preview, and tap Apply.

Options

Type

Solid creates thickness from wrapped closed profiles; Split maps the source as splitting geometry on the target.

SolidSplit

Operation

Controls how a Solid wrap changes volume using New Body, Join, Cut, or Intersect.

New BodyJoinCutIntersect

Available when: Shown for Solid.

Thickness

Sets solid depth normal to the wrapped target surface.

Available when: Shown for Solid.

ƒ Accepts variables and expressions

U offset

Moves the wrapped source along the target surface's first parameter direction.

ƒ Accepts variables and expressions

V offset

Moves the wrapped source along the target surface's second parameter direction.

ƒ Accepts variables and expressions

Rotation

Rotates the source in its placement frame before mapping it to the face.

ƒ Accepts variables and expressions

Result

Apply adds an associative Wrap feature linked to the source sketch geometry and target face.

Editing

Open Wrap in History to adjust type, operation, thickness, or placement while its source and target references remain valid.

Troubleshooting

The source does not appear or crosses a surface seam.

Use supported planar, cylindrical, or conical geometry, reduce or reposition the source with U/V offset and Rotation, and keep it within a valid mapping region.
